Barn owl, "Barnadette"
The handlers allowed many of the birds to fly over our heads. Owls make NO NOISE whatsoever when flying.

Barred owl, "Shakespeare".
Great Horned owl, "Sydney"

All of these birds are used for educational programming and for one reason or another, cannot be released back into the wild.  In addition to the birds you see here, we saw red-tailed hawks, Mississippi kite, Harris's hawks, black vulture, American kestrel hawk, falcons, and Eastern Screech-owls.

We also were treated to a falconry demonstration after which, rehabilitated red tailed hawk and a great horned owl were released into the forest.

Eurasian Eagle Owl, "Yerik"

"Lynn", the American Bald Eagle
